Vintage Irish Postage Stamp with May the Road Rise Up to Meet You Charm
This double-sided pendant features an image from a vintage Irish stamp and “May the Road Rise Up to Meet You” on the other.
The postage stamp was the first issued by the independent Irish state in 1922. It features Celtic knotwork, shamrocks, and a map of Ireland. The color of the image has been adjusted to a beautiful blue color.
The words on the back are taken from an Irish Blessing…
May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.
This piece measures just over 1″ x 1.25″. Each charm is hand crafted, so some slight variation in the metalwork can be expected. This design is now 50% thinner for a lighter more streamlined look from the version launched in 2012.
