My Private Collection Adorns the Christmas Tree

Since I don’t really wear shard jewelry, each year I turn a few pieces into ornaments for my Christmas tree. Each December, I get to relive jewelry seasons past.

This year before I take down the tree, I thought I’d give you a peek at a few pieces from my private collection.

Thanks,Liam! Your tree must be amazing! The Toby mug shards brought to mind the collection of Toby mugs my great aunts had. Also the reminders of past winters and Christmases, and the Christmas story itself. What you do with pieces of dishes- bringing back memories and at the same time saving space- is a wonderful gift to us all. I am so pleased to know you, at least through your art.

Are any of these delightful Shard pieces available for purchase?

I’m afraid, the ones on the tree are the pieces I get to enjoy, so they are not for sale. If there’s one you’re particularly fond of, I can keep an eye out for similar broken dishes to work with in the future.

First happy new year back at you. Second thank you for sharing your lovely pieces. Third I have two of your pieces on my tree right now. They are out in front near the top and next to a light so they can be seen clearly. I would love and cherish more for the tree next year. Please keep your eyes open for new shards to transform my special tree for 2014 . Jann

Wonderful! I’m sure it is nice, after the busy show season leading up to the holidays, to relax and enjoy the pieces you have chosen. All treasures, which is how I feel about my pendant — I keep it where I can see it every day, not just on the days I wear it. Best wishes to you, Liam, for 2014.

How lovely! Have you ever considered adding ornaments to your items for sale? I’m sure there are many of us who would love to have some of these adorn our Christmas trees, too!
